The line, such an easy thing to look passed but in reality it is one of the most fundamental elements of art.

Line art or line drawing is any image that consists of distinct straight or curved lines placed against a usual plain background. Drawn with no shade or hue to represent two- or three-dimensional objects. Line art can use lines of different colors, although it is consistently monochromatic.
My fascination with line art began a couple months ago. I was drawn in (no pun intended) by the simplistic look of it. The way you can evoke emotion without any heavy detail, your eye cannot help but follow along every curve.

Dabbling with this new technique helped me understand how you can manipulate the eye to see shadows and highlights where there is none. Combining swirls together to represent shadows and leaving larger white space to show highlight is a new skill I will definitely transfer over to my other projects.
